Back in his arms
SHE SLOWLY GOT OUT of bed. Her movements have to be measured so as not to wake the man sleeping on the bed.
She’s in deep shit now because she was sleeping with a man she was not supposed to sleep with in the first place.
One, she promised herself to not get involved with this guy who broke her heart a million times over. She hated this guy to the bottom of her heart and soul. He did not only break her heart but he left her high and dry. The first man that she had ever loved.
And two, she had a boyfriend. A perfect boyfriend who loved her so damn much. And she loved him, too. She had no business cheating on July. Much more cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend.
This is so messed up.
She was halfway through zipping her dress when familiar muscular arms wrapped her from behind.
“Where are you going, pangga ko?” he asked. Damn that sexy just-got-out-of-bed voice. And he still called her ‘pangga ko’.
“Home.” She tried to be calm and composed. She had to.
He nuzzled her nape. Shit, stop that…
“Stop that,” reklamo niya. Reklamong walang katuturan because she can feel a moan building up at the back of her throat. “I have to go…”
Instead of stopping he gently nibbled her ear and she shivered. It was her weakness. This effing guy knew all her weaknesses and knew how to push her buttons.
“Marco, stop… please…” Hinawakan niya ang mga braso nito upang alisin ang pagkakayapos sa kanya but for the life of her nawala yata siya sa sarili. Instead of removing his arms around her she slid her palms down his sinewy arms. Why does he have to be so sexy all over…
“How about if we,” he slowly cupped his left hand on her breast and placed his right at the back of her almost-zipped dress and slowly pulled the zipper down. “Take this tiny dress off and go back to bed?”
She pulled a deep breath and gathered the strength to disentangle herself from him.
“Marco,” she said breathlessly. “Let’s just stop this please.”
“Why?” he asked playfully while teasingly unzipping her sorry excuse of a dress.
“Why?! Why? Because…” wala siyang maapuhap na sagot sa tanong nito. “Because…”
“Because what, Marga?” bakas pa rin ang seduction sa boses nito. He kissed her neck, too.
“Because it’s not right!” She zipped up fast. “Mali ito. Maling-mali!”
“Mali?!” he ran his fingers roughly on his disheveled hair. “How is this not right? I’m still single. You are single. Anong mali dito, Marga?”
The nerve! “Everything, Marco!” She threw her arms out to emphasize her point. Why was everything so effing frustrating and utterly complicated. “I have a boyfriend now. I love him. Naka-move on na ako sa kung anuman ang meron tayo noon.”
“You love him huh?” Tila nanunuyang balik nito sa kanya. “Is this your way of showing your love to him? By screwing around with none other than your ex?”
“This is just a mistake, okay? It’s a lapse in judgment.” Ipinagpatuloy niya ang pagbibihis. She had to clear her mind. She had to get out of here.
“Mistake ito, Marga, kung isang beses lang nangyari. But we have been together for almost a week now. Please, pangga.” His voice was frustrated but was almost pleading. “Marga, alam mong mahal na mahal pa rin kita. I never stopped loving you.”
“Funny,” she said bitterly. “You never stopped loving me but you didn’t even have the decency to say goodbye? Anong klaseng pagmamahal `yun?”
“Marga, kinailangan kong umalis noon. My father died and my family needed me.”
“I needed you, too!”
“I tried to talk to you and explain,” may nginig na sa boses ni Marco. “But your dad threw me out. He said he never wanted to see my face again. He said you never wanted to see my face again. Ayokong maniwala, Marga, pero isinampal ng daddy mo sa mukha ko ang agwat nating dalawa. Nalaman ko pa na ipinagkasundo ka na ng kasal sa anak ni Mr. Lim. Anong laban ko doon?”
“Naniwala ka naman kay dad?” She picked up her purse and went to the door. “Hindi ka man lang nagtanong sa akin kung ano ang totoo. Wala kang tiwala sa akin!”
“Please believe me. Wala lang talaga akong magawa.”
She turned and glared at him for a long time. “I don’t know what to believe anymore.”
“I’ll be going away. Aalis na ako at susubukan kong hindi na muling manggambala pa. I booked a flight out of here. I booked for the two of us. Kung… kung… If ever you still hold that love that you have for me there in your heart, pangga ko, maybe you will want to come with me. Hihintayin kita sa NAIA.”
“Huwag ka ng umasa.”
“I would still hope for you, pangga ko.”
“Don’t,” she said coldly and went out of the room.
She had got to get away from him. She had got to get away as fast and as far away as she can. May mahal na siyang iba. She loved July at sigurado din siyang mahal siya nito. Nakapag-move on na siya kay Marco. Hindi siya sasama rito. No way. Hindi na naman siya aasa. Hindi na naman siya magpapakatanga.
Oh, God, but I want to…
